About Dr Tennell Brewington
Dr. Tennell Brewington, an experienced educator, worked as academic director of a public school in Wilmington, Delaware. In fact, she established the school in the mid-2000s and watched it grow from just over 300 students in the first through third grades, to more than 820 students in kindergarten through eighth grade today. Over her tenure, Dr. Tennell Brewington managed dozens of staff members, including instructors, maintenance professionals, administrators, and nurses. Further, she introduced Delaware’s first-ever handwriting and etiquette program, an initiative later recognized by President Barack Obama.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Tennell Brewington enrolled at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While there, she undertook child and youth studies, as well as special services exceptional education studies, on her way to securing her doctorate in education.
For entertainment, Dr. Brewington enjoys watching popular films by writer-director Tyler Perry. Moreover, she composes poems, a practice she believe to be therapeutic and spiritually uplifting. An educator active in her broader community, she participates in clothing and school supply drives through local churches.
